Project #4: Unconventional Theatre

My First Time
Fresco Productions
July, 12 2007-Present

Because this show's content revolves around loosing ones virginity, free tickets were offered to virgins on opening night.
"I'm shocked. I knew that there would be interest in virgins; I didn't think there would be this much,"

This show is not only unconventionally written, but the tactic that producers used to bring in an audience was very unusual. Free seats were given to any virgin that showed up on opening night. In order to "prove" their virginity, self proclaiming virgins were subjected to a verbal test performed by a hypnotherapist. About 20 of the 50 "virgins" were turned away.

This play is about a man that locks himself in a cupboard for the rest of his life because he hates the world. The story as well as the set is unconventional. The scenes take place in a small space on stage that represent different styles of memory boxes. Much of the images are very dark in nature.
